Arrived at Sondela on the 24 Jan
It was a great experience to start my training with the other students. The first week of basic training started with developing our people and communication skills. Communication was the main topic of conversation and we learned to communicate about our problems so that something can be done about it. Group work and daily feedback helped us to communicate more easily in front of groups of people.
The second week of training focused on first aid and fire fighting skills. Learning about safety and how to treat different tipes of injury's and situations. We did practical as well as theoretical training throughout the week.
The third week prepared us for the working environment and correctly addressing situations in the workplace.
During the weekend I had my first experience in a real kitchen. We were put in charge of deboning and making balotine chicken, cleaning and prepping fillets and pork loin. We also had the opportunity to be part of different stations in the kitchen. It was a amazing experience and i cant wait to start with the chef course next week.
